This year’s EB-5 Investor Magazine’s Annual Conference in Los Angeles featured Greenberg Traurig attorneys Kate Kalmykov and Laura Reiff. The 4th Annual EB-5 Conference hosted nearly 500 regional centers, attorneys, and EB-5 program stakeholders. The guests were joined by keynote speaker House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA-6) and special guest speaker former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell.
Reiff moderated a panel discussing the EB-5 Program Reauthorization, providing an analysis of current legislation, potential industry effects, and program advocacy. Kalmykov moderated a panel discussing investing cash from loan proceeds, proving insight on indebtedness, “Cash in Cash,” Requests for Evidence (RFE’s), and Notice of Intent to Deny (NOIDs). In addition, there were many more important topics discussed to help educate the audience on the EB-5 program.

The AILA EB-5 Investors Summit: Representing EB-5 Investors & Regional Centers Conference featured Greenberg Traurig attorneys Kate Kalmykov and Jennifer Hermansky. Kalmykov participated on the Due Diligence in EB-5 Cases panel, discussing the scope and practice of due diligence analysis to confirm that the investment complies with the immigration law requirements of the EB-5 program. The panelists addressed what due diligence is required from the perspective of an immigration expert, securities law expert, Chinese migration agent, and economist. Hermansky’s panel discussed setting up and maintaining regional centers. The panelists provided guidance on the various avenues for creating a regional center, which requirements are necessary for a regional center designation, and ongoing regional center compliance.

The Real Deal Shanghai, to be held September 10-12, 2015, will feature Greenberg Traurig attorney Kate Kalmykov. The event anticipates over 6,000 real estate investors and professionals in Shanghai. The ILW 2015 EB-5 Summit in Chicago will feature Greenberg Traurig attorney Matt Galati. The panelists will cover various topics related to the EB-5 program, and Galati will provide guidance with regard to preparing the I-924 application.
