The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program is scheduled to expire September 30, and with Congress on recess, many attorneys want to be sure when they return it is a priority on their “to-do list.” According to Law 360, the program is popular amongst Chinese investors and real estate developers as it provides green cards to foreign residents who invest at least $1 million in the U.S. and create 10 full-time jobs. Laura Reiff spoke to Law 360 about attorneys’ growing concerns over the possible expiration of the program. However, she stated with three other similar programs set to expire at the same time as the EB-5 program, those who care about any one of the four programs will push the renewal to the top of the list for Congress.
